Hi there,A magic weekend in Los Angeles, the City of Angels, and one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world. I'm staying at the Luxe hotel on Sunset Blvd, and shopping and dining on Robertson Blvd where the Ivy restaurant is located. The shopping is wonderful, better even than Rodeo Drive, but it doesn't have a Barney's store. Love the way LA women dres relaxed chic and so across the trends.Robertson Boulevard is the hip new shopping and dining precinct in Los Angeles and, as much as we all love Rodeo Drive, this is newer and more happening. You can unwind at some of LA's best eateries here. We did brunch at the New York/Paris based Petrossian, the famous caviar restaurant and bar. Fabulous at 11am on New Year's Day for scrambled eggs with vodka cr me and caviar - what a way to start 2011 I say! My grandsons loved the scrambled eggs, too (just with crispy bacon, of course.)Petrossian, 321 N Robertson Blvd. W Hollywood. 310 271 0576 petrossian.comLove the boutiques and stores on both sides of this boulevard Rock and Republic, Curve and Madison; and the young LA celebs all love Kitson which is great to pick up all those cutesy little gifts for home just love their naughty slogan eye masks, gorgeous range of bags and some little dresses.Of course a lot of the big names (Chanel and others) are here as well as being on Rodeo Drive this is probably just more hip and more of a buzz. The huge Beverly Centre is also just nearby for those who feel more at home in department and regular stores.Rodeo Drive is still fabulous. Love that corner Two Rodeo with its Italian cobblestones and the Versace store and Tiffany and Co. and Jimmy Choo, just to mention a few.Valentino is right under the gorgeous little Luxe hotel and along from Ralph Lauren, Dior and Chanel makes this a retail mecca for serious fashion shoppers.I stopped for a coffee at the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo, had stayed there years ago when it first opened lovely area here I watched smart well dressed locals get out of stunning automobiles and well-heeled tourists looking to browse and buy the latest, whether in jewellery, watches, fashion or accessories.Along further is Rodeo Collection where you can find Herve Leger, La Perla and other very beautiful brands. The Rodeo Drive Walk of Style inductees include Ferragamo. Manolo Blahnik, Armani, and fashion photographer Mario Testino. Our Aussie dollar was strong whilst I was there this time, so it was extra tempting to bring home a few good pieces. It's always great to visit this exciting city, a vibrant mix of a number of cities, the one they call the City of Angels Los Angeles.Kind Regards, Di Cant
