Postcard From Porto Cervo, Sardinia 2012

COSTA SMERALDA is one of the most beautiful places in Italy made famous in the 1960's by the Aga Kahn and his vision for a very elite coastal resort town with world class harbours and yachting Marinas to make it such a famous sailing destination. The architecture here is distinctively Sardinian/Italian combination  and the small village of shops offers the international visitor many of the best brands in the world.

Its a shopping mecca for the rich and famous who come for the season and the International Sailing Regattas later in the summer. Prada, Bulgari, Eres, Tods, Missoni MC2ST Barth, Roberto Cavalli all have their stores here showing the very latest in Spring summer 2012 fashion.

I particularly loved  the group of ESMERALDA stores showing the latest spring summer 2012 fashions from Valentino, Gucci  and Emilio Pucci . I fell in love with this same group's home wares and fashion store , opened that very week we were there, called ESMERALDA BAZAR - could actually have moved in and lived there, so stunningly stylish and beautiful.

Here they stock a collection which is designed by the owner of the store and hand made in South America  and Nepal. I bought the most divine natural linen triangle scarf delicately hand beaded in Nepal with tiny shell beads. A  'scarf ' is just not enough to  describe this beautiful linen 'piece' in the colour of caramel with white beading . it will look fabulous with most things I wear. The Kaftan's, tops and skirts were all individual -- a piece that I think of as wearable and collectible - have it ,wear it and love it  forever

Then of course there were the most precious hand picked home ware pieces the owner had carefully chosen from all around the world. If you ever go to Sardinia put this place on your 'must do' list.
