Postcard From Greece

Greetings from Athens, Greece.
We arrived to a 40+ degree scorching day and unwittingly decided to head off to the Acropolis - not a great idea!
Far too hot!
So of course, decided to shop. Â Discoverd the best flea markets at the bottom of the Acropolis called Monastiraki. Â You can find everything here from fashion, jewellery, herbs and spices, ouzo, brandy and lots of souveniers. Â Great atmoshpere with lots of batering and negotiating with the shopkeepers.
If you are ever here you must stay at a great little boutique hotel we found called ATHENS DIAMOND HOMTEL......central location in Athens and close to the Plaka, which features great eating and drinking, something we Greeks are very good at.You must check out a great souvlaki place, called THANASSIS.......to die for!!
After Athens we headed off to Santorini and Mykonos.
What can I say about Santorini - breathtaking sunsets, fabulous food, donkeys to carry you up and down the caldera, and of course the legendary GOLD STREET. Â Black diamonds are the next big thing here and of course, my lovely husband, indulged me.
We headed off to Mykonos after a week and stayed in a beautiful spa hotel - very indulgent! Â Dinners on the beach, cocktails by the pool - bliss!!
Found a great little shop in Mykonos town called HARIS CLOTHING, which specialises in linen!! Â Great summer linen dresses and under 100 euros each! A great find and they have a store in the Plaka in Athens as well.
Heading off to Spain  tomorrow.......until then.....
